Day 13 of 50: Sometimes the art looks like this

Today was ULUV Music Day in San Francisco. Over 100 artists performed free, live music in 20 different locations around the city – mostly in “parklets”, city sidewalk extensions designed as mini urban oases. I performed as an acoustic duo at two different locations. I also did some pencil and ink sketches while I waited.

The day culminated in a  “Flash Music Mob” at Dolores Park, with all the musicians joining together to sing/play Bob Marley’s “One Love”.

I started out thinking I would just join the chorus and videotape. But as you’ll see in the video, various soloists start to come up to the mic, and then I discover a surprise that inspires me to step up too with my violin:
